STEAM Trip to Singapore

Combining the skyscrapers and subways of a modern, affluent city with a medley of Chinese, Malay and Indian influences along with a tropical climate, tasty food from hawker centres, copious shopping malls, and vibrant night-life scene, this Garden City has much to offer. Singapore is a driving source for STEAM in Asia that provides an enriching environment for STEAM broad-based learning, from experiencing a VR technology workshop to studying the science behind Singapore’s clean water and participating the science center.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Changi International Airport.

Meet your program coordinator at the arrival hall of the airport.

Day 2

Our first visit is to the Singapore City Gallery situated at the Urban Redevelopment Authority. The gallery is specially designed for self-discovery and learning of Singapore’s planning journey through its many interactive exhibits.   

After, we proceed to the Marina Barrage for a guided tour. Built across the mouth of the marina channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore’s 15th reservoir and the first in the heart of the city. Included is a guided educational tour of the Sustainable Singapore Gallery, Green Roof, Solar Panels and the Marina Barrage. 

On our final visit, we proceed to the Gardens by the Bay which provides students with an opportunity to experience the development of modern Singapore. Students will enjoy the Supertree Grove, OCBC Skyway and two Conservatories along with witnessing the evening Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.

Day 3

In the morning we visit the Urban Garden City, which champions the sustainable living movement and encourages everyone else to do so. Students will participate in a guided tour around Citizen Farm which features the unique farming stations along with a talk that will dive into solutions for food security, food waste and social issues like ageing population, inequality environmental impact through agriculture.

Singapore Science Centre. The Science Centre offers a wide range of science enrichment programs. Be it a workshop in one of the specialized teaching labs or an engaging problem-based exploration of an exhibition gallery, the programs aim to support students with hands-on and inspiring learning experiences. The students will also participate in a STEM workshop.

In the  evening, students will visit the Night Safari Zoo. The world's first safari park for nocturnal animals. The wildlife park is home to more than 2500 animals from over 130 species.

Day 4

In the morning we proceed to Hiverlab which is a pioneering Infocomm media technology innovation and content production company focusing on content and system development with immersive technology and media VR content.  

Fusion World Experience. At FusionWorld, students will embark on a journey to learn about our latest science & engineering technologies and research highlights through a guided tour. Venture through the five thematic zones, where students will explore and discover how cutting-edge technologies can enhance our everyday lives and beyond. 

Day 5

Today we commence our first tour at NEWater. An educational tour in the NEWater Visitor Centre takes students through a guided tour of multimedia presentations, hands-on interactive games, and informative exhibits that explore the Singapore water story. 

Art Science Museum. Discover creativity at its best through art, science, design, media, architecture and technology.

Our final visit is to the Marina Bay Sands complex and the Skypark Observation Deck soaring 57 levels above the city.

Day 6

We will visit One-North, the Silicon Valley of Singapore. On this tour, the students will begin the day with an introduction to one-north and an exclusive visit to the one-north gallery to learn about the conceptualization of this R&D / Business Park and its development. 

A guided exploration of JTC LaunchPad, a nurturing ecosystem designed specifically to encourage the growth of start-ups and industry enablers. Housing more than 250 start-ups, 30 incubators, accelerators and venture capitalists, this space is a thriving entrepreneurial haven. 

Thereafter, you can explore including an entrepreneur sharing session at an incubator, innovation lab or office, where we invite start-ups or companies to share about their companies, products and practices. 

Our next visit is to the Singapore Mobility Gallery which features seven exhibition zones that showcase various facets of Singapore’s comprehensive land transport system. 

Day 7

Universal Studios Singapore.  Visitors will find 24 movie-themed rides that were designed just for the Singapore park. 

Later in the afternoon we depart for China Town night markets where we test our bargaining skills before enjoying our farewell dinner at the Yum Cha restaurant.

Day 8

Free & Easy until you check out of the hotel and transfer to Changi International Airport.

Visit the Changi Experience Studio. A state-of-the-art digital experience. The Changi Experience Studio utilizes technology to present a diverse mix of unique experiences under one roof, including interactive games, projection storytelling, immersive shows and gallery exhibits.
