Adventure & Sports School Trip to Korea

Nature and adventure are a big part of what makes up Korean culture. It is common to see droves of people heading to the mountains every weekend for their weekly hike, or even headed to the closest hill every morning for a daily one. Various gyms pepper every city block throughout Seoul and campsites exist at almost every nature reserve across the country. This adventure & sports school trip to Korea includes cycling, caving, hiking, and also experiencing the authentic love for the outdoors that the Korean culture has.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at Incheon Airport and meet your guide. After check-in, tour the trendy area of Myeongdong – the centrifuge of fashion in Korea. Go for a stroll along the Han River to take in the Seoul skyline. Relax in the evening by enjoying a unique Beyond Classrooms activity: a squid games take on traditional Korean Board Games.

Day 2

Start the day at Gyeongbok Palace and finish your tour by witnessing the change of Guards ceremony.

It’s time to don a dobok (도복) and learn Korea’s national martial arts, Taekwondo. Spend the evening winding down vis a vis a street tour at charming Insadong.

Day 3

Embark on a must-do cycling route along Korea’s central river, river Han. Feel the cool breeze and enjoy the grass and changing cityscapes as we pedal through the heart of the city.

Baseball is a massive part of Korean popular culture and going to watch baseball is a completely different experience than anywhere else in the world. Let’s go to the ball game!

We’ve seen some baseball, now let’s hit the batting cages, a favorite pastime for young Korean baseball fans.

Day 4

Transfer to Gangwon (3 hours). Gangwon is a province to the east of Seoul and is famed for its rich forests and lush mountain ranges.  Have a traditional lunch in a classic Korean countryside retreat scenario, right next to a mountain stream. Spend the afternoon exploring the natural caves in the region (the difficulty of cave exploration can be adjusted from regular tourist level to amateur professional caving levels).

Rest up at a rustic mountainside guesthouse and go on a night walk of the village and surrounding countryside trails.

Day 5

Transfer to Seoraksan National Park for a full day of hiking, take in the beautiful landscapes as we trek pass the ‘Flying Dragon’ Waterfall.

Rest your feet after a full day of explorations in the natural hot springs at the base of the mountain range.

Day 6

After transfering back to Seoul, enjoy free time at Gangnam Coex, the world’s largest underground shopping complex. The complex has everything from sunlit libraries to movie theaters to aquariums and concert halls. Then, travel back in time at the Namsan Hanok Village – remodeled after the traditional houses of Joseon Dynasty, this village allows you to get a taste of the traditional life while escaping from the bustling city life of modern times. Dress up in traditional Hanbok for some final Korean memories (and photos!) on your last day. Finally, we head to N Seoul Tower for a spectacular nighttime views of Seoul city
