Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Singapore City Tour. Enjoy a walking tour of Singapore, including the old China Town where rows of hawker stalls, shop house restaurants and kiosks are packed with traditional and contemporary jewelry, souvenirs, and purveyors of traditional Chinese medicine.​

Bumboat Ride. Hop on to a leisurely bumboat ride along the Singapore River. The Singapore River is a small river with great historical importance. It is the place where Raffles made as the 1st trading port in Singapore. The ride will end at Merlion Park at Esplanade Bridge. At the Merlion Park, come face-to-face with Singapore’s very own tourism mascot, the Merlion, standing in the foreground of the Marina Bay Sands.

Day 2

Start the day with a university exchange meeting. In the afternoon, head to the Singapore Sustainable Gallery (Marina Barrage). The Marina Barrage created Singapore’s 15th reservoir and the first in the heart of the city in boosting Singapore’s water supply and alleviate flooding. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, the marina catchment is the island’s largest and most urbanized catchment. In the sustainable Singapore gallery, students can learn about environmental sustainability with the usage of interactive multimedia illustrating how Singapore overcame its constraints in natural resources to meet the needs of a fast-developing population in an environmentally friendly manner.

Day 3

Singapore’s Sustainability & Technology Opportunities:

Fusion world. Fusion World serves as a conduit for technologies and innovations developed at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Students will experience multidisciplinary technologies and interact with prototypes from the fields of material science, info-communications, high-performance computing, data storage, manufacturing and chemical sciences.​

Edible Urban Gardens. Urban farming community Edible Garden City champions the sustainable living movement and encourages everyone else to do so. A variety of growing methods in the 8000 sqm facility demonstrates the viability of productive farms in offices, malls, and community centers, making safe, fresh, nutritious produce accessible to all in the near future. By closing the gap between food and people, we aim to reconnect city dwellers with nature. Students will participate in a guided tour around Citizen Farm which features the unique farming stations along with a talk that will dive into solutions for food security, food waste, and social issues. ​

Day 4

Full day of business visits:

Sky Greens. Sky Greens is the world’s first low-carbon, hydraulic-driven vertical farm. Using green urban solutions to achieve the production of safe, fresh, and delicious vegetables, using minimal land, water, and energy resources. Sky Greens endeavors to become the world’s leading solution provider for integrated, sustainable, and green urban agriculture technology. Students will enjoy a guided tour and get to learn about the farm and see for themselves how the high-tech farm uses innovative technology to achieve high productivity in land-scarce Singapore. During the farm tour, students will also get to see 2 prototypes being a floating platform and a rooftop farming model.​

Public Utilities Board (PUB) NEWater Visitor Center. The NEWater Visitor Centre is set up by PUB, Singapore’s national water agency. The center showcases NEWater, high-grade reclaimed water that has found its place as a Singapore success story and the pillar of Singapore’s water sustainability. NEWater is produced from treated used water that is further purified using advanced membrane technologies and ultraviolet disinfection to make clean, safe drinking water. 

Day 5

Full day of business visits:

Google/ HP: Meet with a tech giant to gain a multinational perspective on the pros and cons of doing business in Singapore. Students will learn about prospects for growth from an American MNC in the sea and uncover the future of the industry as it relates to AI, robotics, and machine learning.​​

Grab /Anymind Group​ / Cisco Co-Innovation Center: By meeting with a successful and proven SEA market disrupter, students will get a glimpse into the experience of growing a business in Singapore using the latest technologies available. Students will learn how the company continues to diversify its offerings and continually innovate to keep up with the demands and preferences of the local consumer.​

Farewell Dinner @ Gardens by the Bay: Gardens by the Bay span over 100 hectares and is a highlight for any visitor to Singapore. Visit the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, as well as the OCBC Skyway, an elevated walkway situated between two of the larger Supertrees​
